Current positions available:
The Montville Township Public Library located in northern Morris County (I-80/I-287), is seeking an energetic, creative, outgoing and proactive Librarian I (Part-time) for our busy Library in a growing diverse suburban community of 22,000 residents.
General responsibilities include: Reader's Advisory/Information Desk, Collection Development, Programming, Summer Reading, Technology Training and Community Outreach. All staff is cross-trained to work in different areas of the Library so the successful candidate must have the interest, willingness and desire to work with Customers from Pre-K to Older Adults.
Scheduled hours currently for this position are: Wednesdays 9am-2pm, Thursdays 1-9pm and Sundays 11:30am-5pm. In addition, the successful candidate should have some flexibility to work a schedule that meets the needs of the Library when necessary to cover day, evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications include an MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited institution and an ability to obtain a NJ Professional Librarians Certification.
The Montville Township Public Library is covered by Civil Service regulations and staff is represented by the IFPTE Union. The starting salary for the position is: $22.30 per hour for a person with an MLS/MLIS degree and includes pro-rated vacation, sick and floating holidays.
