Guidelines for Borrowing and Use

  • iPads may only be checked out from the Circulation Desk.

  • A resident of Montville Township (includes Pine Brook & Towaco) must have a valid full service Montville library card with current address and no outstanding fines above $10.00 to borrow an iPad.

  • iPads must be returned to the Circulation Desk, not dropped off in our book or media returns.

  • An iPad may be borrowed for 2-weeks with no renewals. Patrons may borrow 1 iPad at a time.

  • A borrower may reserve an iPad by placing a hold request in the catalog, by phone, or in person. Requests will be filled in the order received.

    • The iPad will no longer be held for the borrower if it is not claimed within 6 business days.

  • To ensure equal access to iPads in our community, once a borrower returns an iPad, they may not check out another iPad for at least 24 hours.

Fines and Liability

  • The overdue fine is 50 cents per day.

  • The borrower is solely responsible for the iPad and will be billed for reasonable repair or replacement costs associated with damage or loss of iPads and/or peripherals due to neglect or abuse.

    • Replacement cost for the iPad device: $200

    • Replacement cost for the iPad charger: $12

Proper Care and Use

  • As with any item, use care when handling.

  • Please do not leave the iPad plugged in and charging all the time. Doing so can damage the iPad.

  • Return the iPad with all parts and components.
